I think it works great. Noticed new hair growing within days whereas most other products tell you you'll notice it working in about 2 months. This has even began growing hairs on my hairline although it is recommended for use on the crown of your head. 5 stars no question!
Pros: Works well for the aging-hipster balding crown. The hair came back as fast as, well, as fast as hair grows.
Cons: Don't forget to keep using it or guess what? You're balding again, my man. Widow's peaks? Too bad dude, you're just going to go bald, just hope you have a sexy shaved head.
I've used rogain for several years now and it was working. I just started with the foam and it seems to be just as effective but without the inconvenient dry time. I like it even better than the original.

I've been using this product for about a month now, and while I've never tried any other form of Rogaine or similar product before, it's been a pleasant experience. At first I was unsure about how well I'd remember to apply twice a day. So far I've only missed once. The instructions say to use about half a cap full in your hand (run your fingers under cold water nonetheless), but I found it was much easier to just dispense the foam directly onto my scalp, without worrying about it literally melting in my hand. This way I could easily target the areas I needed most all at once. Sometimes I accidentally do a little too much, and sometimes too little. But the little foam bottle actually does have more in it than I expected. Then I gently rub it in all over my scalp and believe me, the stuff dissolves almost instantly into liquid so you gotta keep rubbing it in until it completely feels dry. Thats when you notice your hair all matte textured like you just used some weird thickening mousse. It's not bad at all. If you already have thin hair like me then it actually kinda helps the styling process to give your hair some body and lift. The smell isn't so bad either. I've heard of other products having weird smells but Rogaine Foam smells decent. It's a little strong at first but goes away soon enough. I should point out that I've been using this product where it hasn't been clinically confirmed to work - in the frontal areas of my scalp and along my receding hairline. I've read and heard about people having success using the product there, so I figured why not. As of now it's hard to say if any new hair is growing, but one thing's for sure - my hair hasn't looked any worse. About 5 years ago I noticed my hair taking the same route as my brother and male cousins - the dave letterman style receding island. It's been slowly getting worse this past year but with the Rogaine Foam I somehow already feel confident the product is working. It's funny how I've heard about other people dismissing Rogaine simply because it's a well known doctor advised solution. And I've personally seen what happens when they decide to go the herbal or "all natural" route, such as all the nonsense you'll find online with all the glorious fake reviews to back it. Sorry, but those products just don't work for people - I've seen it first-hand with my brother and others over the last 5 years. They're now bald. I'm really glad I went with Rogaine - definitely satisfied so far, good luck to everyone! I'll update here if I can. :)
This is much easier to use than the liquid version, though I would suggest applying it directly to the scalp and forget about putting it on your finger than on your scalp. The one drawback is that your hair seems to consume a lot of it and I wonder how much actually makes it to the scalp itself.
The results are not inmediately so you have to be patient. But after some weeks you start to see the difference. soon, you will be able to do apply it in seconds and it doesnt interfere with your hairlook. I recommend it 100%

Im 23 and started losing my hair a few years ago in the front. I have a really bad receding hairline so I shopped around and found kirklands extra strength minoxodil. Its not intended for frontal baldness but I used it anyway and in 2 months I have natural colered hairs where they should be! My natural hairline is full of small hairs. They are small and are just now starting to really grow but they are there. I bought a 4 month supply for the cost of a 1 or 2 month supply of rogaine so Im ready to see what happens in the next 2 months. I wouldnt fool with the regular strength when the extra strength works so well. One of the reasons it works so well for me is because im young and everyone is different but I would definetley recommend this product.
Minoxidil 5% Extra Strength Hair Regrowth Treatment for Men - 6 bottles, 6 Month Supply
I've used Minoxidil 5% for over 4 years. The choice of Minoxidil was a no-brainer for me. Just the thought of surgery on my scalp would cause me to lose all of my hair. Prescription medicine had unmentionable side effects. So I chose Minoxidil, which has left me with thin but ever-present hair on top to dazzle the ladies. And it's easy on my wallet (cheaper than Rogaine).
As a hairdresser for over 40 years, I will tell you that this product works! It is 5% of what you will pay for Rogaine and it is the exact same ingredient. Thanks to Kirkland for being a company with integrity and charging a fair price for a fair product. I tell all my clients about Kirkland Minoxidil.

After going on a cruise and getting sun burn on the back top of my head, I thought I better do something about it. I never lost more then 50%, and my spot wasnt more then 2 inchs across, much like that guy in the comercial. I have always had thin hair compared to my friends, but I didn't want to be at my wedding with a bald head. I am 26 now, I keep in very good shape, and eat super healthy. I thought that that might be important to note.
First, if the smell bothers you, then I bet you can even step outside in the spring without complaining. I NEVER smelled anything on the pillow as long as I let it dry. It dries within minutes, and can be combed easily. Just make sure you WASH YOUR HANDS. If you don't, and you put your fingers in your mouth for any reason, the taste will be with you for hours!
I would apply just like the directions said, twice a day(I started once a day in the morning later on, see below explanation). I would put the can in cold water in the sink to cool it inside while I showered, then run my fingers under cold water. It wouldn't melt away this way. The only problem I found was it seems that half a cap full wasn't enough, but the little cans held a lot. I think that half a cap full is more a mental thing then anything else, I just wanted to apply more then it instructed me to do so. It only takes 2 minutes in the morning at most, it becomes part of your day just like brushing your teeth.
After four months, I begin using Kirkland's 5% solution at night to save money, since I didn't need it to dry as fast at night. By doing this now the Rogaine can is lasting maybe a month and three weeks. It's cheaper and I don't have to worry if im using too much. I also used Kirkland all over my head in places I wasnt loosing hair, and its really made my hair thicker, like it hurts to brush now. Since they really dont know how rogaine works, I think me putting it over my head is just enlarging the hair I already have and making it not fall out as fast, but I dont know..
After 3 months I had re-growth, with about 65-75% coverage compared to my original 50%. Its also important to know that I bought a mirror to make sure I was applying it right. I asked the person who cuts my hair and she said that I had small hairs growing.
After 4 months I had more re-growth, with maybe 75-80% coverage.
After 6 months, I can't honestly tell even under bright light where my bald spot is. I can't believe that in 5-6 short months my hair completely has grown back. It is actually kind of frustrating because now that its grown back, I wish I didnt need the rogaine anymore, but sigh I will need it the rest of my life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well until science clones hairs to put on my head!
ALSO, important to note!!! I also begin using head and shoulders. Most people think this is a dandruff shampoo, which it is, but it cures your of dandruff by taking care of your scalp. I also started taking a nutritional supplement called "Hair, Skin and Nails", I bought at Wal-Mart. I noticed that after 3 months my hair just seemed healthier, and grew alot faster. I also begin using Saw Palmetto Pills once a morning, 540 milligrams. People say this blocks DHT, I have no idea whether they did anything or not, but my hair is thinker all over.
I hope this helps
I just used up three bottles of rogaine. I use it twice a day for almost three months and more thicker hair show up at the back top of my balding head which covers about three to four inches in diameter. The growth seems to be still uneven. I still have fine hair of some of the spots which hopefully it evens up with the rest of the hair for the next three month of use.
My husband loves this product. He thinks it's really giving him results and he prefers it to the liquid version.

What is "Minoxidil" ???
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Minoxidil (trade names Rogaine and Regaine) is a vasodilator medication known for its ability to slow or stop hair loss and promote hair regrowth. It is available over the counter for treatment of androgenic alopecia, among other baldness treatments, but measurable changes disappear within months after discontinuation of treatment.
History
=======================================================
Minoxidil was first used by (trade name Loniten) to treat high blood pressure. It was, however, discovered to have an interesting side-effect: the ability to reverse or slow down the balding process. Upjohn Corporation produced a topical solution that contained 2% minoxidil to be used to treat baldness and hair loss, under the brand name Rogaine in the United States and Canada, and Regaine in Europe and the Asia-Pacific. Treatments usually include a 5% concentration solution that is designed for men, whereas the 2% concentration solutions are designed for women. The patent on minoxidil expired on February 13, 1996.
In 2007 a new foam-based formulation of 5% minoxidil was shown to be as effective as the liquid-based treatment for male pattern baldness.
While the drug is available in the United Kingdom, it cannot be prescribed on the NHS, so patients must either buy it over-the-counter or have a private prescription for it.
